Pitching the Value: New 2026 economic impact and benefits study for the UK Holiday Park and Campsite Sector
12 May 2026: The UK Caravan and Camping Alliance (UKCCA) has launched a major new research study to measure the economic impact and wider benefits of holidays taken across all forms of accommodation on UK holiday parks and campsites.
This work builds on the success of the UKCCA’s influential Pitching the Value reports (2019 and 2024), which demonstrated the sector’s enormous contribution to UK tourism. The 2024 study found that holiday parks and campsites generated £12.2bn in visitor spending, contributed £7.2bn GVA, and supported 226,745 FTE jobs across the UK.
These findings continue to be instrumental in securing investment, shaping policy discussions, and strengthening the sector’s voice at both national and local levels. With key government decisions affecting tourism businesses now being formed, updated evidence is essential.
Holiday Park and Campsite Owners and Operators:
Why we need your help!
The 2026 study will provide a robust, up to date evidence base to support:
· Stronger national and local engagement with government
· Advocacy on planning, taxation, infrastructure, and tourism policy
· Investment, development, and job creation across the sector
· A clearer understanding of visitor behaviour, expectations, and spending
To achieve this, we need the active involvement of holiday park and campsite owners and operators across the UK.
Two core research components in 2026
1. UKCCA Holiday Park and Campsite Visitor Survey
We want to hear from anyone who has visited a holiday park or campsite in the UK recently. Visitor Survey Link : https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/UKCCA-Website26
All participants will be entered into a prize draw to win a holiday. Full prize details and terms are available via the survey link.
2. UKCCA Holiday Park and Campsite Owner and Operator Survey
We want to hear from holiday park and campsite owners/operators around the UK. The link to the holiday park and campsite owner and operator survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/UKCCAWPOperator26
To thank you for taking the time to complete the survey, you can enter your name into a prize draw for a luxury hamper at the end of the survey.
If you are a single park, please complete the online survey. For larger park groups, please email ukholidayparkimpact2026@frontlinemc.com to request an excel spreadsheet version of the survey which will be easier to complete for all your parks.
How holiday park and campsite owners/operators can help?
The success of this research depends on support in two key ways:
1) Promotion of the Visitor Survey
Encourage guests to take part — online, onsite, and through your communication channels.
2) Completion the Owner/Operator Survey
Please complete it as fully as possible to ensure the study reflects the realities of the sector.
Both surveys will run throughout the summer until the end of October.
